Kevin is the clinical and organizational ethicist at Mackenzie Health (formerly York Central Hospital) and Southlake Regional Health Centre since 2009 after completing the Fellowship in Clinical and Organizational Ethics at the Joint Centre for Bioethics (JCB) through the University of Toronto. Kevin began studying medical ethics as an undergraduate in occupational therapy at the University of Toronto, subsequently completing an MSc in Medical Ethics at Imperial College, London (2002). Kevin is the Past Chair of PHEEP (Practising Healthcare Ethicists Exploring Professionalization) a pan-Canada group of healthcare ethics practitioners working to develop practice standards for the field. He is a registered occupational therapist in Ontario and a member of the Joint Centre for Bioethics where he co-directs a course on the MHSc bioethics program.
Karamjit Singh contributes Hospital News’ Natural Path column. She received her Bachelor of Journalism degree from Ryerson University in 2005. She then attended Seneca College where she received a post graduate diploma in Corporate Communications in 2008. She currently works as the Media and Community Relations Officer at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
