The Credit Valley Hospital recognizes paediatric oncology clinic partners

At a brief ceremony on November 8th 21011, the partners in the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) Satellite Clinic at The Credit Valley Hospital unveiled a new sign to celebrate and recognize this initiative that provides certain aspects of a child’s cancer care closer to home. The partners in the clinic include CreditValley, the government of Ontario, the Hospital for Sick Children and POGO.

The POGO Pediatric Oncology Satellite Clinic at Credit Valley currently provides care for more than 130 childhood cancer patients from our community, helping to reduce the amount of time they must travel to the Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids) for medical procedures and blood work. The clinic atCreditValleyis one of seven satellites inOntario. It is the largest POGO Satellite clinic in the province and treats the largest number of patients referred from Sick Kids for satellite care.

On hand to unveil the new sign were the Hon. Harinder Takhar, Minister of Government Services and MPP Mississauga-Erindale, Dr. Ann Bayliss, Chief of Paediatrics at Credit Valley, Dr. Angela Punnett staff physician at the Hospital for Sick Children, Dr. Mark Greenberg, Senior Adviser of Policy and Clinical Affairs at POGO, and Heather Stewart and daughter Kathyrn, 8, who is currently a patient at the clinic.
