Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) will begin community engagement this month in the Sea to Sky corridor with the goal of improving and enhancing health-care services in the fast-growing region, now and in the future.
VCH will be inviting Indigenous partners, community partners, residents, local governments and health-care providers to participate in Health Vision Sea to Sky. Engagement includes an online survey and other engagement opportunities that will help VCH develop a health services master plan for the Sea to Sky corridor and specific health-related site plans for the Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton areas to address the region’s current and future changing health and wellness needs. As Health Vision Sea to Sky is developed, there will be opportunities for First Nations, community partners and residents to participate in the engagement to provide feedback on the draft plans.
The Sea to Sky corridor is growing rapidly, and this impacts health services. People living and working in the Sea to Sky corridor needing health care prefer to stay close to home to access those services when it is safe to do so and expect the highest quality care possible. VCH is proactively planning for the future to help ensure those needs are addressed.
The benefits of Health Vision Sea to Sky will include understanding community needs, priorities and expectations, developing coordinated service plans and helping to understand future infrastructure needs. It will also give VCH the opportunity to hear from as many people as possible and consider diverse viewpoints.

Anyone living or working in the Sea to Sky corridor, or other interested parties, is invited to complete the online survey.
You can also get involved and stay informed by visiting engage.vch.ca or by contacting healthvisionsts@vch.ca. In addition to the survey, there will be other opportunities to get involved and share perspectives on the draft plans starting this fall.
