On Wednesday, November 10, 2010, Windsor Regional Hospital was awarded the People’s Choice Award for their Follow the Yellow Dot Initiative at the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and OHA Innovations Expo.

Celebrating Innovations in Health Care Expo 2010 showcases initiatives driving the health-care system renewal in Ontario. Follow the Yellow Dot is an innovation created by the team at Windsor Regional Hospital using Lean tools that focuses on communication between caregivers in order to reduce/eliminate the transmission of community acquired based infections in the Hospital.

The award was presented to a team of Windsor Regional Hospital staff and Board members by the Minister of Health and Long Term Care along with a cheque for $10,000.
