The Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation (CABHI) has officially launched a new Call for Innovation for its Ignite program, inviting healthcare and research organizations, as well as early-stage companies, to apply for support in advancing breakthrough ideas that improve the lives of older adults and people living with dementia.
The Ignite program offers up to $150,000 CAD in funding along with access to CABHI’s comprehensive Acceleration Services— a suite of supports that includes business development, commercialization guidance, and networking opportunities with industry and healthcare partners. The program is designed to help innovators move their early-stage solutions closer to real-world impact, addressing critical needs in aging, brain health, and caregiving.
Funding from Ignite can be used to support a wide range of project activities, including prototype development, proof-of-concept testing, usability studies, early solution validation, and intellectual property generation such as patents or disclosures. By providing both financial and strategic support, CABHI aims to bridge the gap between promising ideas and market-ready innovations that can enhance quality of life and support system sustainability.
Since its inception, CABHI has played a key role in advancing transformative innovations in brain health and aging — helping innovators turn their concepts into practical tools, technologies, and programs that benefit older adults and their care partners across Canada and beyond.
This is an incredible opportunity for early-stage innovators to access not only funding, but also CABHI’s deep expertise and network within the health and aging ecosystem. The goal is to help bring solutions to market faster — solutions that can make a measurable difference in the lives of those we serve.
Applications for the Ignite program are now open, with a submission deadline of December 5, 2025. Innovators ready to advance their transformative ideas are encouraged to visit the Ignite program webpage for full eligibility details and application instructions.
With aging populations growing worldwide, CABHI’s Ignite program continues to fuel creative, evidence-based solutions that empower older adults, support caregivers, and strengthen health systems for the future.
